The summit features a prominent trig point, which is a favourite spot for photos, as well as a beautiful grassy area perfect for a picnic.
Primarily composed of sandstone, with a rich layer of clay beneath, providing a unique combination of terrain that is both stable and sometimes slippery after rain.
From the summit, you can enjoy expansive views of the Surrey Hills and, on a clear day, even catch a glimpse of the North Downs.
The name 'Hascombe' derives from the Old English 'has', meaning 'hazel', combined with 'cumb', meaning 'vale', referring to the vale of hazel trees.
Historically, Hascombe Hill has been a valuable lookout point. It also played a part in the local agriculture, with grazing lands for sheep and cattle.
